Finkenauer Announces Grants to Support Water and Waste Disposal in City of Wyoming
WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer (IA-01) on Thursday announced USDA Rural Development grants and loans totaling $560,000 for the improvement and replacement of water systems in the City of Wyoming in Jones County.
The $226,000 grant and $334,000 low-interest loan will help finance a $611,000 project to replace water mains and make other water-system improvements to correct inadequate water pressure and flow issues in the community. The project is estimated to benefit 515 city residents.
"Investments in key infrastructure are essential to making small towns like Wyoming welcoming places for families to live and businesses to grow,” Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer said. "I appreciate this support from USDA Rural Development, and look forward to these projects contributing to an improved Wyoming community."
Finkenauer serves as Vice Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, and is Chairwoman of the Rural Development, Agriculture, Trade and Entrepreneurship (RATE) Subcommittee.
