Finkenauer Announces Grant for Accelerating Innovative Mobility (AIM) Project
WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer (IA-01) on Thursday announced a Federal Transit Administration grant of $120,000 to improve public transportation services in Delaware, Jackson and Dubuque Counties.
The grant was awarded through the Federal Transit Administration’s $11 million Accelerating Innovative Mobility (AIM) initiative, which aims to help transit agencies develop new service models and provide more efficient and frequent service to retain riders.
"More efficient, frequent and reliable public transit can make a major difference for workers, businesses and families in communities big and small,” Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer said. “I’m excited to see the innovative public-transit ideas that come out of Delaware, Dubuque and Jackson counties as a result of this grant."
Finkenauer serves as Vice Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, and is Chairwoman of the Rural Development, Agriculture, Trade and Entrepreneurship (RATE) Subcommittee.
