Finkenauer Announces $13.7 million in Federal Grants for The Eastern Iowa Airport

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer (IA-01) on Monday announced grants totaling $13.7 million for taxiway reconstruction at the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids.

"The Eastern Iowa Airport provides essential air service for the entire Cedar Valley and beyond,” said Congresswoman Finkenauer. “This important taxiway infrastructure project augments recent terminal improvements and upgrades, making the airport more competitive and efficient and better serving Iowa travelers — while creating good-paying construction jobs in the process."

The grants were provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation in the amounts of $13.1 million and $601,174.

Finkenauer serves as Vice Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, and is Chairwoman of the Rural Development, Agriculture, Trade and Entrepreneurship (RATE) Subcommittee.
