CEDAR RAPIDS - Today, Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer (IA-01) announced the introduction of her new bill, the bipartisan Keep Physicians Serving Patients Act of 2019. Finkenauer made the announcement at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer (IA-01) helped introduce bipartisan legislation to address Iowa’s physician shortage. The Conrad State 30 & Physicians Access Act, introduced with Nebraska Republican Don Bacon (NE-02) and Illinois Democrat Brad Schneider (IL-10), expands and extends the Conrad 30 Waiver program that allows international doctors who have received their training in the United States to receive a visa to practice in a medically-underserved area of the United States for at least three years.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer (IA-01) led members of the Iowa delegation in a letter supporting the US Department of Health and Human Services’ investigation into whether Medicaid managed care organizations have complied with federal requirements when denying patients access to requested services and prescriptions. Finkenauer was joined by Congresswoman Cindy Axne (IA-03) and Congressman Dave Loebsack (IA-02) in the letter to HHS Inspector General Daniel Levinson.
